Portuguese legislation allows the option of double nationality. However, acquiring the Portuguese nationality may or not imply the loss of the nationality of origin, according to the laws form where he/she is a natural allows or not a double nationality, since there are laws that require the individual to renounce his/her previous nationality in order to be granted the nationality of the country of immigration.
